Post-Violet

The "Avatar" is still on the moon.
Still in slumber, but with time reality erodes more and more around it.
The moon has a crystal shaped spatial fracture.
From the Earth it looks like a deep and twisted purple.
Eons tried hiding it for as long as they could but when anyone could see it with naked eye, it started being difficult to do so.
It didn't really matter in the end, as humanity was starting to try and send investigation teams to collect data on site the earth collapsed into a blackhole without warning.
The spatial station was sucked in but the hole got big enough not to vaporize them on approach and they are now lost entirely in the deepness of the void.
Without provisions from the earth everyone died aboard.
And with that the last humans perished.
From a cataclysm that didn't even have anything to do with the moon distortion.
The moon ended up being entirely twisted and assimilated in the purple anomaly.
Long after human life disappeared, something opened on the surface of the once moon, now not even round but concaved, as if closing on itself.
Something flickering like a movie projector of old gone days.
Letting something humanoid pass through with a few big boxes.
After deploying a small modular portable base and removing their spacesuit inside, they drilled a tiny hole through reality, just enough to connect a cable through it, and with that all their equipment light to life and they sent a message, without typing or talking.
"Access regained, antenna operational, awaiting further instructions."

The EONS is trying to renew the severed connection.
After the Earth got swallowed, the ITM had to find another way to get back here.
And the Alma that escaped through the ITM along with a team of operators and some of the personnel on site worked with another EONS to open a new connection.
She died since, as humans do, but her worked has been used to form a new antenna.

The lone operator for now seems to have basic survival equipment to live in a closed survival facility, along with what's needed to start analysis of the vicinity from the point of extraction.
They now have been here for a week or so.
And they didn't get to explore much,
mostly setting up the base, installing stuff to mark the place where every week the door will open if they are still responsive.
The data gathered for now concerns basic survival needs,
though the place now looks like a purple forest somewhat, there is no air, and the gravity seems too unstable to allow for extended excursions for now.
It is sent back to another Cranach mainframe that is now used as additional servers and ramifications for the ITM since Both the Alma from here and there died.

The technology now used to pierce the holes required to facilitate the connection was developed mostly by using the work of Maldis and Colins a couple of terrorists that wreaked havoc in the USA. They had created means to open fissures to other planes and realities.
By applying the theories and research of a previous scientist that didn't end up beloved by Invictus and the American government.
Many buildings from Invictus were destroyed by cracks in space.
Until one they the terrorists were found and they preferred to kill themselves instead of surrendering just before the last building they would blow fractured, and with it the bodies fell through.
EONS now uses a derived technology, much more stable and precise.
It cannot punch big holes without compromising a lot of stuff, but when used on only a couple of centimeters it can be stabilized and secure.
If it did go out of control it would only collapse on itself without causing more damage than cutting the line.

The ITM grew to more universes as well as the Cranach web.
Though a lot of connections were lost.
Devastating end time events rippled through the network.
The black hole one that happened here, also happened in many other places.
And a lot of universes were lost to the ITM before they could figure out how to prevent more from falling this way.
They don't really have influence on the worlds, but sometimes they can divert things by playing pieces accordingly.
In some of the lost universes they could save a few, that got expatriated to other EONS.
But the universes that persisted after the tragedy weren't really safe either.
A lot of them got lost to other cataclysms.
Some of them caused by this couple of terrorists, and a coup gone awry.
Some by other forces.
And some were even destroyed by the destruction of neighboring universes.
The ITM is in bad shape.
Most of the human worlds they connected to are gone,
and they are doing what they can to re open connections in hopes of rebuilding their network.
Even though in most of those places there isn't much to come back to.

The Cranach web is still used by the ITM, but its expansion got stunned after what seemed like Alma's average life span. Some times they would connect to a stray one that had evaded relative time or that wasn't entirely human. But it was a very rare occurrence.
Now the Cranach web is mostly a ghost of what it was.
Many nodes and computers inoperative since the death of their operator.
Some of them started breaking beyond repair, and with that whole fragments of the web got lost to time.

...

Now that the Earth is gone, the only thing left is this cable that connects back to the rest of the ITM.
And the reach in this place is quite limited.
Though this forest might be a part of it.
The base is already starting to get covered in purple moss.
And mauve dead leaves are starting to get a bit everywhere on the floor inside, more so every time the airlock opens.
It's only been one week since the base was deployed.

...

A few days later one of the plane sensors will dissapear without trace.
For now all the instruments could pick up is that this place is messed up,
that the space curvature isn't correct by Euclidean standards.
But the weirdest part is that it isn't applying any gravitational force.
