Hi, we are Cut-Up-Hearts, CUH for short
We do a lot of weird and fragmented stuff.
It's hard to keep track of everything.
This website is an attempt at compiling what we do
To remember, share and maybe even be remembered.

Consultant in very diverse matters, but mostly Void related.
(also basic classpecting, roleplaying games, games being rituals ... )

And I guess if you want to contact us you could send us an email.
cut-up-hearts@protonmail.com
(We don't look often but it's the best way to get in touch)

I like / recommendations

Internet stuff :

Books :

  • Ancilliary Justice (Space opera trilogy developing themes of (de)colonization and plurality in a way.)
  • Arsene Lupin (I read every book of the serie when I was a teenager, so uh, not sure now, but it was pretty inspiring for me back then. And is a very interesting depiction of a antihero in litterature being depicted as a rival to Sherlock Holmes.)
  • the Many deaths of Laila Starr (Incredible comic, I wouldn't really know where to start ~)
  • Gwenpool (One of the only marvel comic characters I really can't get enough of. Funny and emotional, with an approach to the meta that really resonated with me.)
  • Inside Mari (A manga that distorts the body swap trope. With a lot of things that resonated deeply. TW though : it's very graphic and shows scenes of masturbation, a lot of it is also structured to provoke unease.)

Movies :

  • Paprika (No description would make it justice, oniric investigation, very visceral, astonishing animation and soundtrack very poignant on questions about the self, reality and a lot of other things.
    Tw:subthemes of rape and derealisation

Shows :

  • The OA (The show that hooked me to Brit Marling's and Zal Batmanglij's filmography. Themes of fragmented self and isolation that resonated deeply at a time where I needed to feel seen.)
  • A Murder At The End Of The World (A very long title for a great show that is coming out right now ~ I'm very excited about it and it's directed by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij !!!)
  • Doctor Who (I just love it)
  • Motherland (I didn't expect much of it but I actually quite liked it ! An army of witches, interesting topics and a lot of very cool leading female characters !)
  • The Tatami Galaxy (Very visceral themes and styles about choices and student life, best experienced without knowing too much about it.) And the sequel The Tatami Time Machine Blues (I loved it, and same, best you don't read too much beforehand.)
  • Bluey (A kids cartoon that deals with very deep thematics very well and the rest of the time is fun and cute. I cried and laughed a lot, I recomend for any age.)

Games :

  • The Rusty lake/Cube escape collection (Virtual escape games with an esoteric story and style. Recuring motives and characters. TW: blood, death and disturbing imagery.)
  • Disco Elysium (Amnesic cop and their many internal voices try to solve a murder, incredible artstyle, writing, voice acting, what else to say ? ~~)
  • Endling : Extinction is forever (Amazing game about a fox mother raising pups while everything around them devolves. It's very beatiful and heartbreaking and got us very invested in it.)
  • Everything (I don't really know how to describe this one, it's weird and beautiful.)
  • The Fall I and II (The AI of an armor suit tries to find help for their unconsious pilot twisting their limits over time.)
  • In other waters (Another game about playing a suit's AI, this time with a conscious pilot, and exploring a new planet and your past.)
  • Rain World (Survive and explore, maybe get involved into the affairs of passing gods.)

Classpecting :

  • Homestuck (where the idea of classpects comes from)
    • Also go watch this video by Shadok about it.
  • Funk McLovin's Vibes theory (groundbreaking classpecting theory using music theory.)
  • Ouroborista's Treatise on Classpecting (A great overview of the depths we go in.)
